Living Room Transformation: Custom Built-Ins & Fireplace Modernization
This project elevated a standard living room focal point by replacing freestanding furniture with custom built-in cabinetry, floating shelves, and a completely refaced shiplap fireplace.
This renovation demonstrates a comprehensive upgrade to both aesthetics and functionality. The freestanding shelving units were replaced with custom-fit built-ins, featuring sliding barn-door hardware on the lower cabinets and thick floating shelves stained to seamlessly match the existing hardwood flooring. The fireplace underwent a complete modernization, swapping the dark surround for bright, elegant herringbone tile. Finally, a custom, heavy-timber wood mantel and floor-to-ceiling shiplap paneling were installed to anchor the room, creating a cohesive, premium entertainment space with clean lines and integrated storage.
